Vusal Gasimli hosts delegation from the Kingdom of the Netherlands

Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), received a delegation consisting of Caroline Ramaekers, Head for Eastern Europe of the Kingdom of the Netherlands; Rebel Reyper, Senior Adviser of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands; Marianne de Jong, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Azerbaijan; Johannes Kirpestein, Deputy Head of Mission, and Shehla Balakishieva, Senior Adviser of the Embassy.

During the meeting, the parties discussed Azerbaijan’s socio-economic development agenda, with particular focus on green energy and climate resilience, digital transformation, the Middle Corridor, transit transportation, the expansion of export potential, and public–private partnership frameworks.

The delegation was also informed about the initiatives carried out within the framework of the “Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for Socio-Economic Development” and the “2022–2026 Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.”

The Netherlands’ side highlighted the importance of bilateral cooperation and knowledge exchange in the fields of agri-innovation, water resources management, sustainable food systems, circular economy, and renewable energy. Additionally, the opportunities to develop joint research and initiatives on integration into regional and global value chains, logistics corridors, and innovation financing instruments were considered.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the guests were presented with the book “Middle Corridor,” prepared within the partnership framework between CAERC and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
