Baku International Multiculturalism Center (BIMC) is enlarging its activities in the direction of education. BIMC signed a cooperation agreement with INHA University of Korea. This agreement was signed by Ravan Hasanov, executive director of the Center, and professor Youngsoon Kim, dean of the Multicultural Education Department of INHA University. The agreement surrounds the integration of the course “Multiculturalism and interculturalism”. Azerbaijani multiculturalism will be taught to course participants in this context. Masters, PhDs and local experts will be involved in the course as listeners. Professor Younsub Oh of INHA University and doctoral student Leyla Masimli will give the lectures to the listeners. The trainings will be organized for the students who will be selected through course participants. At the same time, a visit of those students to our country will be implemented within the framework of the International Multiculturalism Summer and Winter Schools project of the Center in order to create an opportunity for students to become familiar with the multicultural environment in Azerbaijan.
INHA University is one of the leading universities in South Korea in the fields of engineering, business administration, medicine, and social sciences. According to the ranking, INHA University ranks 8th among 189 universities in South Korea, has relations with many prestigious higher education institutions in the world. Various studies are conducted at the university, which has more than 20,000 students.
It should be noted that, Baku International Multiculturalism Center (BIMC) has been implementing the project of teaching the subject “Azerbaijani multiculturalism” in local and foreign universities since 2015. Presently, the subject “Azerbaijani multiculturalism” is taught in 26 leading universities of the world within the framework of this project.
