As a result of the cooperation between the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Azerbaijan Insurers Association, a new textbook titled “InsurTech” has been published.
The textbook was prepared under the scientific supervision of Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of CAERC, Doctor of Economics, and Professor. It provides a comprehensive analysis of the theoretical foundations of the “InsurTech” phenomenon, its application areas, and its impact on the global insurance ecosystem. The book examines both international experience and the opportunities and institutional challenges that digitalization brings to the insurance sector in the national context.
The “InsurTech” textbook is intended for university students studying insurance management, as well as professionals working in the insurance field.
Leading experts in finance and insurance were involved in writing the textbook. The project leader and one of the co-authors is Latif Zeynalli, Head of the State Programs Department of CAERC and PhD in Economics. Other co-authors include:
Shahriyar Habilov (Central Bank of Azerbaijan), Ulviyya Jabbarova (“PASHA Life Insurance”), Goshgar Shakaraliyev (“AzSigorta”), Gunay Pasha (“Xalq Life Insurance”), Niyaz Ismayilov (“PASHA Insurance”), Ughur Ibrahimli (“Mega Insurance”), Vusal Masiyev (Compulsory Insurance Bureau), Coskun Gölpınar (“Doga Insurance”), Fatih Acer (“Insurtech Hub”), Serhat Toptanci (“Allianz Turkey”), and Atilla Benli (“Zurich Life and Pension”). Each of them explained key aspects of the InsurTech concept in different chapters.
InsurTech transforms the operational mechanisms of the insurance sector into a digital ecosystem. Within this approach, artificial intelligence predicts risks in advance, big data analyzes customer behavior, blockchain strengthens trust, and the Internet of Things (IoT) monitors risks in real time. Together, these technologies turn insurance companies from simple compensation providers into organizations that ensure proactive risk management and personalized financial security.
