The Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP) have jointly organized the Asian Think Tank Network Forum 2025 in Tokyo, Japan. The forum, held under the theme “Ensuring Accessibility and Inclusiveness through Digital and E-Commerce”, featured a presentation by Ramil Huseyn, Deputy Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), on the activities of the Azexport portal.
The presentation titled “How Government Leverages Digital Trade and E-Commerce to Boost Economic Growth: A Case Study from Azerbaijan”, prepared by Ramil Huseyn and the head of the portal, Ayxan Qadaşov, was selected by the Forum’s organizers as one of the 15 best examples from across the Asian region.
Speaking before researchers representing various countries at the continent’s largest think tank platform, Ramil Huseyn noted that the Azexport portal, established in 2016 by the Decree of the President of Azerbaijan, has so far received export orders from more than 150 countries across different categories and directed them to local entrepreneurs. He also provided information about the Digital Exhibition Hall project implemented jointly with Mtradeverse, emphasizing that the initiative facilitates the promotion of Azerbaijani products in international markets.
During the Q&A session, several proposals and initiatives were put forward regarding the potential application of the Azexport model in other countries.
