Economic Scientific Research Institute (The ESRI)

The Economic Scientific Research Institute (The ESRI) public legal entity was established by the decree 1382 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 26th June, 2021, based on the Institute for Scientific Research on Economic Reforms. The think tank with a great history of about 60 years is the successor of the Scientific Research Economic Institute which had been established under the Azerbaijan SSR State Planning Committee in 1964.

Main goal of the ESRI is to offer scientific research, analysis and academic training in respect to the development of economy as a whole and its individual fields, to work out the scientific fundamentals of the economic development policy of the country, to design and organise the publication of analytical information products, to develop relevant programs and projects, as well as to offer trainings, education, consulting, monitoring, evaluation, expertise, establishment of databases, strategic planning, and innovative development works and services in other directors for state, private, public and international sectors having established itself as a modern think tank and scientific research enterprise.

To support activities of the ESRI with the decree 1382 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 26th of June 2021, Training and Education Centre public legal entity of the ESRI was established. The Centre acts as a training and education enterprise providing vocational training, monitoring and evaluation of labour market and human resources, retraining and professional development training for public and private sector.

Currently, the ESRI is actively working to promote its brand as a think tank, to establish its corporate and business image, to develop electronic database of resources and to expand the network of potential partners for cooperation and etc.
