Spencer<\/a>, Chair of Urban Warfare Studies at the same institute, attended Topchubashov Center as part of their research visit to Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n<p>Having already authored\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mwi.westpoint.edu\/the-battle-of-shusha-city-and-the-missed-lessons-of-the-2020-nagorno-karabakh-war\/\">an article<\/a>\u00a0and book chapter on the Battle of Shusha of the Second Karabakh War (in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/dp\/1912440350\">Understanding Urban Warfare<\/a>), the visitors had conducted a field study in Karabakh to examine the actual battlegrounds and interview local servicepeople and military experts.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/top-center.org\/en\/events\/3267\/spencer-visits-shusha-for-field-research\">Spencer`s earlier Karabakh field trip<\/a>\u00a0in November 2021 was co-facilitated by Topchubashov Center and included a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/top-center.org\/en\/events\/3256\/contemporary-case-of-urban-warfare-battle-of-shusha-public-lecture\">public lecture on the Battle of Shusha<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>At Topchubashov Center, Collins and Spencer were hosted by Center`s director Rusif Huseynov and Research Fellow Mahammad Mammadov this time.
