The Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) and Baku Slavic University (BSU) jointly organized an event titled \u201cVictory Route: The Middle Corridor and New Realities.\u201d<\/p>\n

As part of the event, the presentation of the book \u201cThe Middle Corridor,\u201d developed under the scientific supervision of Professor Vusal Gasimli, Doctor of Economics and Executive Director of CAERC, was held. The event was attended by members of the Milli Majlis (Parliament), public figures, university faculty members, and other guests.<\/p>\n

In his opening remarks, BSU Rector Anar Naghiyev congratulated the participants on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the Victory achieved through the heroism of Azerbaijani martyrs under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the worthy successor of the political course of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.<\/p>\n

He highlighted the political and economic achievements gained by the country in the post-Victory period, emphasizing that Azerbaijan has created new realities in the global arena and has become a state with a strong international voice. The rector also spoke about the importance of the book \u201cThe Middle Corridor: Navigating Current Realities and Embracing Future Prospects,\u201d underlining the significance of expanding transport and transit capacities in today\u2019s world.<\/p>\n

Professor Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of CAERC, congratulated participants on the upcoming Victory Day and spoke about the economic foundations of the victory. He emphasized that one of the key advantages of modern states lies in having multilateral transport and communication outlets.<\/p>\n

Given its favorable geographical location, Azerbaijan continues to strengthen its role in the region through systematic, consistent, and successful reforms. Achievements in the transport and transit sector are closely linked to infrastructure development, coordination, digitalization, and parallel efforts in public awareness, promotion, and international visibility.<\/p>\n

The book \u201cMiddle Corridor: Existing Realities and Future Prospects,\u201d prepared in partnership with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Institute, provides an in-depth study of Azerbaijan\u2019s strategic role in international transport routes.<\/p>\n

Authored by 22 scholars from 10 countries and published in English, this valuable edition covers topics such as the Middle Corridor\u2019s potential as an energy route for the European Union, cooperation opportunities with Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, and the strengthening of energy connections within the framework of the EU\u2019s South Caucasus and Central Asia strategy.<\/p>\n

Professor Gasimli noted that the book recommends the promotion of regional trade, active involvement of the private sector, and synchronized development of all infrastructure areas to realize the full potential of the Middle Corridor.<\/p>\n

Members of Parliament Hikmat Mammadov, Sahib Aliyev, Gulshan Pashayeva, and other guests highlighted the significance of the topic and the publication. They noted that \u201cMiddle Corridor: Existing Realities and Future Prospects\u201d will continue to serve as an important academic reference and teaching resource for universities and research institutions for years to come.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
